Had to choose between a flight to see family or a long train ride, picked the train and it was a weird mix of good and bad.

That weird mix is so real. Had a trip once where the views were amazing but the guy across from me talked about his pet lizards for three straight hours. You get the quiet time to just stare out the window, but you're also kinda stuck with whatever vibe the train car decides to have that day.
