I thought those 'air quality alert' days were just hype until my kid's asthma got bad last summer in Portland.

Oh man, that hits home. We went through the exact same thing with my daughter. We finally got a good air purifier for her bedroom and it made a world of difference on those smoky days. Keeping the windows shut tight and running the AC on recirculate helped too. It's scary how real those alerts are once you see it affecting your own kid.

Right there with you. We got two honeywell purifiers after our son started coughing at night last summer and now I'm that person who checks the AQI on my phone before I even check my texts in the morning. It's crazy how something you never thought about before becomes your whole routine once you see your kid struggling to breathe.

Our pediatrician said the same thing about recirculate mode. Makes you check those alerts every single morning now.

Yeah, it's wild how fast that becomes part of the routine. We have a little checklist by the door now, phone, keys, check the air quality index. The recirculate tip was a game changer for our car rides to school.
