I was dead wrong about composting, now I'm obsessed

Last year I thought composting was just fancy trash that attracted rats and smelled bad. My neighbor kept going on about it so I finally tried a small bin in March 2022. I stuck to just vegetable scraps and yard clippings, no meat or dairy. By August I had rich soil that made my tomatoes go crazy compared to the store bought stuff. It felt weirdly good to see my food waste actually turn into something useful instead of just filling a landfill. Has anyone else here been surprised by how low effort composting actually is once you get the hang of it?

Isn't it funny how the simplest things end up being the most satisfying fixes for life's bigger messes?

My dog figured out the best fix for a broken toy is just ignoring it completely.

Respectfully disagree. Ignoring things usually makes them worse down the road.
