My local repair guy told me to stop buying new toasters, so I brought him my old one
I had this 14 year old toaster that kept burning one side, and the guy at the shop on 32nd street said the heating coil just needed a 6 dollar part, not a 40 dollar replacement. He showed me how to take it apart and clean out 3 years of crumbs and it works perfect now, but I never even thought about fixing small appliances before. Has anyone else started taking stuff to repair shops instead of tossing it, or am I the only one freaking out about e-waste all of a sudden?
