Spent $400 on a 'climate positive' crypto project that just vanished

Honestly, I bought into this token called EarthCoin six months ago because their site said every transaction planted a tree. Tbh, I sent $400 from my main wallet to theirs after watching a bunch of hype videos. The project's Discord went quiet after two weeks, and the website is just a blank page now. Ngl, I feel dumb for thinking my small investment could actually help. Has anyone else gotten burned by these eco-crypto things and found a real way to support climate work?

That's rough, sorry that happened. Honestly, I've had better luck just donating directly to groups I can actually look up. Crypto feels like the wild west for this stuff.

Remember that big Ukraine crypto donation fund last year? I read they got over sixty million dollars before people realized a huge chunk went to a fake group. How do you even check if a crypto wallet belongs to a real charity and not just some guy with a convincing website?

But that's exactly why crypto is better, you can track every single transaction on the public ledger. How many regular bank donations can you trace that clearly?
