Spent a weekend at Lake Mead and the water level is terrifying

I drove out to Lake Mead last weekend for the first time in maybe 5 years. The bathtub ring on the rocks is like 150 feet high now. Boats are sitting on dry ground where used to be deep water. I walked out to what was a marina dock and it's just a crumbling concrete slab. My dad says it was full when he was a kid in the 70s. How do you even process watching a lake dry up like that in real time? Anyone else been out there and felt totally helpless about it?

Take a deep breath, isn't Lake Mead always going up and down with drought cycles like this?

Haven't the water levels dropped way below anything we've seen in the last 50 years though?
