Stopped recycling plastic bags after I saw where they actually end up

Used to carefully bag all my plastic grocery bags and drop them at the store bin. Then I read a report that 90% of those bags get burned or buried anyway. Anyone else feel like that whole system is just for show?

Yeah the whole thing is a bit of a joke honestly lol. That 90% stat is about right from what I've seen too. I just started reusing my plastic bags until they fall apart then I use them as trash bags for the bathroom bin. It's not perfect but at least I'm getting some use out of em before they hit the landfill. The drop off bins at stores are basically just a feel good thing for most people.
