The creek behind my apartment complex is barely a trickle now compared to 5 years ago
I moved into this place in 2019 and the creek behind it was like a solid 4 feet wide with actual minnows swimming around. Now after 3 straight summers of drought and the town pumping more groundwater, it's maybe a foot wide and smells like rotten eggs half the time. I know it's just one small creek but it freaks me out to see the change happen in real time. Anyone else got a spot near them that's drying up or changing way faster than you expected?

Did the town consider digging deeper wells or just let that creek die?

Betty, digging deeper wells would just pull MORE water from the same aquifer and make the creek even DEADER.
