Turning off the bird cam finally let my garden recover

After 2 years of watching the live feed and freaking out over every hawk, I unplugged it last spring and planted native shrubs instead, and the sparrows came back within 6 weeks, so has anyone else found that stepping back from monitoring helped more than trying to control everything?

We had the exact same thing happen with our trail camera, it was on 24/7 for a year and I was convinced the foxes were eating everything. Once I took it down and just let the brush grow, the songbirds showed up like clockwork and I actually started enjoying my yard again instead of treating it like a security feed. Sometimes the best thing we can do for a garden is just walk away and watch from the porch.

Honestly I gotta push back on that, I kept my camera up and it's the only reason I caught the neighbor's dog digging under the fence every night. Without that footage I'd still be blaming the birds. Sometimes knowing what's actually happening beats having a nice view of your yard.
