Watching the wildfire smoke roll into Denver last Thursday just wrecked me
Tbh, I was picking my kid up from school and the sky went from blue to this sickly orange haze in like 20 minutes. The air quality index hit 187, which is 'unhealthy' for everyone, and we had to keep the windows shut for three days straight. It just feels so helpless, like you can't even let your child play outside because of something burning 200 miles away. Has anyone else had to explain to a little kid why they can't go to the park because the air is poison?

Man, that orange haze is the worst. I had the same thing happen last year, and trying to explain to my nephew why we couldn't go kick a soccer ball was just heartbreaking. You watch it get dark at noon and it feels like some weird disaster movie, right? It's crazy how something so far away can just lock you inside your own house.

My dog got so confused by the orange sky last summer.

Dude that orange sky stuff is straight out of a movie, its so freaky. My own dogs were losing their minds too, pacing around all day like something was hunting them. It messes with their heads cause they can't tell if its morning or night. Felt like we were living in some alternate dimension for a few days.
