Appreciation post: For the serene absence of replies to my paint question

I put up a thing asking about paint finishes three days back. Got one thumbs up and that's it, total quiet. Do simple questions just not get love here or what?

Feel your pain, my tile question last month got totally buried too. Seems like only the dramatic posts or big debates get traction here. What gives with that?

Maybe the quiet is a good sign. If your paint question was totally wrong, people would jump in to correct it fast. That one thumbs up could mean your info was solid and there was nothing to add. Keith744, your buddy's plumbing post might have been the same. Sometimes no news is good news, and a post that doesn't start a fight just slips by. This place can feel helpful even when it's quiet.
