Can we talk about the Saturday I got stuck in Chicago for 14 hours and had the best time?
My flight to Denver got cancelled because of storms and the next one wasn't until Sunday morning. I was ready to be mad, but a gate agent named Rosa gave me a $15 food voucher and told me about a quiet spot near gate B17. I ended up talking to a retired teacher for hours and we watched the planes come in while eating pretzels. Has anyone else had a travel disaster turn into something weirdly nice?
I used to book the earliest flight every time to avoid delays, but a three hour layover in Minneapolis last year made me actually slow down and read a whole book. Now I kind of hope for a good cancellation every once in a while.
