Hit 1,000 days of daily walks and honestly, the streak means less than I thought

I wrapped up 1,000 straight days of walking at least 30 minutes every single morning, started back in March 2022 after a lazy stretch. Everyone kept telling me how amazing that milestone would feel, but when I actually got there last week, it sort of just happened. The number itself did nothing for me, which surprised me because I thought I'd feel some big sense of pride or momentum. What actually mattered was the way my knee stopped hurting around day 400 and how I don't check my phone stats anymore. The streak became a habit so fast that the count just turned into noise. Anyone else hit a big round number and then realize the real win was way earlier and way quieter than expected?

So you're telling me you suffered through 1,000 sunrises just to realize day 400 was the real hero? That's like eating an entire cake and only enjoying the first bite. The streak is basically just a tiny reward for not quitting when your knee screamed at you. I bet if you skipped day 999, you'd feel the same as you do now, just with less bragging rights. Guess the real win was ditching the phone stats, not racking up another number on a chart.

Ditching the tracking app was the real game changer for me too, made it feel less like a job.
