I just hit 500 answers on this forum and it made me rethink the whole thing

I logged in yesterday and saw the counter. For years, I thought the point was just to get your own questions solved, and I'd only post when I needed something. But hitting that number made me look back. I realized I've actually learned more from trying to figure out other people's problems than from getting answers to my own. It's like the act of explaining something forces you to understand it better. Has anyone else had a moment where a simple number flipped how you use a place like this?

My buddy had the same thing happen with his book count.

Actually, that's a pretty common glitch. The system probably just double counted his downloads for a day. Nothing to worry about.

Honestly this whole thing is way deeper than just a forum number. It reminded me of how in real life people think the point of conversations is to get their own point across. But the more you actually listen and try to help someone else figure out what they are stuck on, the clearer your own thinking gets. I see it all the time with friends who complain about their jobs then get annoyed when I ask detailed questions. But then they end up solving their own problem just by talking it out. Its like the number was a wake up call to stop treating this place like a vending machine for answers and more like a gym for your brain.
