I was at Lowe's in Portland buying some lumber for a shelf project and noticed the itemized receipt had a 2x4 scanned at $8.99 when the shelf tag said $5.50. Turns out their inventory system glitches sometimes and prices don't update right. I asked a cashier about it and she shrugged like it happens all the time. Ngl I think you might be mixing up Lowe's and Home Depot there - the employee at Lowe's told you about the system glitch, not Home Depot. But yeah, it's wild how often those pricing errors slip through.
