PSA: I realized after 3 years of posting that my 'ask anything' questions were actually just me venting.

A regular user in this community finally pointed out that my last post about my noisy neighbor was just a complaint disguised as a question, which made me see I was using the forum wrong the whole time.

My entire blog was just that...

Read back through the whole exchange though because I think you're mixing up two different stories. Fiona wasn't the one posting for three years, she was replying to someone else who did that. Her own blog was just questions she admitted to later. It's a small thing but it changes the context quite a bit. Fiona's situation was about pretending to be new and innocent with those questions, not about flying under the radar for years. The three year thing was a different person entirely, someone who was just lonely and wanted conversation. I just wanted to clarify because the two scenarios are pretty different in what they say about the person's intentions.

Wait, you posted for THREE YEARS before someone said something? How did nobody notice before now? I'm trying to picture all those "questions" like "how do I deal with a coworker who steals my lunch" or "what's the best way to tell a friend they talk too much" just sitting there. That's honestly kind of amazing it took this long for the pattern to get called out.

My friend did the same thing on her book club forum (which is kind of funny, like @ray_martinez82 said, how nobody spots it). She was just looking for a place to talk, not really for answers.
