Shoutout to my no-phone-before-coffee rule that backfired instantly

I greeted my neighbor's cat with a full business proposal yesterday.

My dog got a counteroffer from me once.

Seriously, mine only agreed to move when I offered extra treats on the bed.

Oh man, this whole thread is just proving my point that everything is a negotiation now. It starts with cats and dogs, like @henryp40 said, and then it's your roommate wanting you to do the dishes, or your boss asking for one more tiny task. Feels like we're all just making deals all day long to get the smallest things done. When did basic cooperation become so hard?

Disagree completely with the whole treat negotiation thing. Pets operate on instinct, not contracts. Giving in to their demands just teaches them to beg more every single time. That business proposal to the cat was a total waste of mental energy. Animals do not care about your deals, they only care about food and comfort. Why pretend otherwise when we could just set clear rules from the start?
