Swapped my gym routine for calisthenics after a shoulder scare

I was bench pressing at Planet Fitness last month and felt a sharp pop in my right shoulder on rep 5 of 225 pounds. Stopped immediately and iced it for 20 minutes, but I couldn't lift overhead for a week. Switched to bodyweight stuff like pushups and pullups while I recovered, and now I'm sticking with it for 3 months. My shoulder feels way more stable, and I actually look leaner than when I was just lifting heavy. Has anyone else ditched the barbell for bodyweight training after an injury like this?

Same thing happened with my lower back last year. Bodyweight fixed it for good.

Isn't it funny how our bodies force us to fix the stuff we were ignoring, like poor form?

That 30 days of deadlifts with a rounded back finally caught up with me. My lower back basically staged a protest and said nope, we're fixing this now or you're not walking tomorrow.
