That time my car battery died in the middle of a Walmart parking lot on a Sunday

I was just picking up some groceries around 5pm last Sunday and went to start my car and nothing happened... not even a click. Had to call my brother to come jump me with his truck, which took over an hour because he was 20 miles away. Has anyone else had a battery just give up with zero warning signs?

Did you check if your battery terminals were corroded or just loose?

Good call @vera_johnson9, that crusty corrosion always gets me.

I dunno, sometimes a little crust is actually fine. I've had cars where the terminals looked like a science experiment and still fired up no problem. Cleaning them can actually make the connection worse if you're not careful and scratch the lead. If the battery's got enough juice and the cable is tight, that green fuzz isn't always the enemy.
