TIL spending $200 on a heated mattress pad was the best winter decision I ever made

Honestly, I was so tired of fighting with blankets every cold night in Minneapolis. After I got it, my heating bill dropped by like $40 a month because I kept the thermostat lower. Has anyone else found a random purchase that actually saved them money?

Rolled out of bed looking like a burrito and honestly, @miles_burns, I respect that. The trick is getting the right blanket density, too light and it slips off, too heavy and you're basically trapped. My old comforter was like that, I'd wake up with one leg sticking out and the rest of me tied up in a knot. That cocoon life is undefeated, it's just a commitment you have to make.
