TIL that for a really specific question, sometimes you just have to ask it in the most boring, straightforward way possible.

I kept getting vague, useless answers on forums about how to fix a weird color shift in my design software until I posted the exact error code and my monitor model, which got me a fix from a retired Adobe engineer in under an hour.

Yeah, posting the exact error code is the only way to get a real answer sometimes.

My buddy spent three days on a vague forum post.

Oh man, @spencer_owens58, that's the classic move right there. I can picture him just staring at his screen for hours, trying to mind-read what the original poster meant. It's like they think we're all psychic or something. Why do people treat error codes like state secrets? Your buddy just learned a hard lesson the hard way.

Last time my code crashed I took a screenshot of the whole error message and pasted it into the search. Found a fix in like ten minutes because someone else had the exact same problem. Just copying the numbers from the error made all the difference.
