Update: I asked a really basic question here last month and the replies were way better than I expected.

I mean, I was just trying to figure out how to get my old posts to show up in search again, and someone walked me through checking my robots.txt file. Turns out a plugin update had blocked everything. Has that kind of simple fix ever saved anyone else a huge headache?

Saved my entire website from digital oblivion" is no joke. I think the scariest part is how a plugin can silently break something like that without any error message or red flag. One minute your site is running fine, next minute search engines act like you don't exist anymore, and you're left wondering what changed.

omg @matthewdixon this is so true. i had a similar thing happen with a caching plugin that just straight up nuked my sitemap for like 2 weeks and i had no clue. zero errors or warnings, just poof gone.
