Which forum debate is the real one: the post or the comments?

I read a stat that said 80% of people in any 'Ask Anything' thread only read the title and top comment, so the actual question barely matters. That got me thinking, are we really here for answers or just to argue past each other? Which side do you fall on when you scroll, the asker or the debate starter?

Have you ever actually tried to get a straight answer in one of those threads? Honestly, I learned the hard way that if you want real info, you gotta sort by controversial and read the replies that are fighting. The top comment is usually just the most popular joke, not the truth. So yeah, I treat most posts as a prompt for the real show, which is people arguing in the replies.
