A client told me our software demo felt too generic for Austin companies
We were showing our project management tool to a tech firm on South Congress, and their lead dev straight up said 'This feels like you made it for Silicon Valley.' They wanted more local examples and pricing that made sense for smaller Austin teams. We swapped in case studies from local startups like Cart.com and added a flexible pricing tier under $100 a month. What's one thing you've changed to make your product feel more Austin-specific?

You know that article in the Austin Business Journal about how local tech feels different? They talked about how companies here hate overbuilt software with features they'll never use. We stripped out a bunch of fancy reporting tools that just made our app feel bloated and slow. Now we lead with how simple and fast it is, which seems to click way better here. It's less about what the software can do and more about it just getting out of your way.

Getting out of your way" is the perfect way to put it. Did you get any pushback from users who actually wanted those fancy tools, or did everyone just accept the simpler version?

Totally, we did the same thing and our churn rate dropped.
