I finally gave up on that downtown Austin co-working space after burning $800
Signed up for a 6 month deal at that new spot on 5th street, thinking it would be great for client meetings. The internet dropped at least twice a week, and the 'community manager' was never around to fix it. Lost a potential client call because of it last month. Anyone know a reliable spot south of the river that doesn't have these issues?

Feel your pain, man. I once spent a whole week working from a spot where the only reliable connection was my phone's hotspot. My big plan to look professional ended with me huddled in a corner by a window, holding my laptop up like I was trying to get a signal. That's a special kind of defeat.

Sounds like a rough week but is that really a defeat... it's just a bad internet spot. People act like every work problem is some huge life battle. You got your work done right? That's the win. The rest is just a funny story to tell later.

Kelly638 has a point. My own low point was trying to join a video call from a parking lot. The audio cut out and my boss just saw me silently mouthing words like a confused goldfish. Still got the notes sent though.

Read this thing the other day where some tech guy said working remotely is about "embracing the chaos" and honestly that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. Like no, I don't want to embrace the chaos of my laptop dying because I'm camped out by the only outlet in a coffee shop. Holding your laptop up by a window like a medieval peasant trying to catch a signal is not embracing anything, it's just survival. Maybe we should stop pretending this is all some romantic grind and just admit we're all just trying to make it to 5pm without throwing our routers out the window.
