I finally tried that fancy coworking space on Congress Avenue

Paid $400 for a month pass and ended up working from my couch 80% of the time because the WiFi kept dropping out during Zoom calls - anyone else regret splurging on those trendy spaces?

Heard the same thing from a friend who signed up there and just ended up working at her kitchen table instead.

Parkerbrown nailed it with the vibe over infrastructure line. I once paid extra for a 'premium' desk thinking that would fix my connectivity issues, and a nice lamp doesn't do much when you can't even load a webpage. At least my couch doesn't charge me $400 to drop my video calls.

Oh man, that's a bummer. I mean, $400 is a lot to drop on a place that can't even keep a stable connection for video calls. But honestly, I think some of those coworking spaces are more about the vibe and networking than the actual internet reliability. Like they put all their budget into fancy furniture and cold brew on tap instead of making sure the WiFi can handle more than a dozen people streaming at once. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have a solid connection than a plant wall or whatever.
