Is remote work actually killing Austin's downtown lunch spots?
I keep seeing people on here saying Austin tech is all remote now and downtown is dead. But I went to Easy Tiger last Wednesday at noon and waited 20 minutes for a table. My buddy who works at a local startup says his whole team is in office 4 days a week. So which is it really? Are we overstating the remote work shift here in Austin or are these packed lunch spots just an anomaly? What have you all actually seen on the ground?

Easy Tiger is always packed, remote or not. Sounds like the reports are mostly hype.

Packed? Last time I walked past Easy Tiger at 3pm on a Tuesday and saw a line stretching down the block, I figured it was a food truck giveaway. Remote location or not, that place has some kind of magnetic pull. Maybe the reports are just noise, but the crowd says otherwise. Honestly, I'm more surprised anyone can find parking within a mile of that spot without a drone or a prayer.
