Our Austin startup's funding wait turned into a weird office game

We were told our seed round would close in 30 days, but it stretched to five months. To pass the time, we started guessing which investor would reply next based on their email font style. It got so silly that we had a whiteboard leaderboard tracking our predictions. The day we finally got the wire, we were too busy arguing over Comic Sans to notice right away.

Love when waiting turns into weird office lore. We once ranked how likely investors were to ghost us based on how staged their LinkedIn profile pics looked. @milarodriguez your mug ranking thing is totally the same energy, just making up rules to stay sane. Our dumb scoring system got so detailed we almost missed a real meeting invite. The desperate games you invent while waiting are low key the best part of startup life.

Honestly, that LinkedIn pic ranking sounds exactly like the stuff we do to kill time. Tbh, my crew once made a whole bracket for who brought the weirdest lunch, and it got way too serious. Ngl, @milarodriguez, your mug ranking probably saved your sanity more than you know.

Man, we once ranked coffee mugs by coworker desperation levels.
