Paying for a premium coworking membership in Austin that I barely used
I signed up for a $300 a month desk at Common Desk on East 6th back in January thinking it would boost my productivity. After 3 months I realized I was going maybe twice a week and the rest of the time I was just working from home anyway. Wasted about $600 total before I finally canceled. Did anyone else fall for the hype of having a fancy office space downtown or am I just a sucker for a nice lobby?

Picked up on the same "treat yourself" trap with a Regus pass last year. Kind of funny how fancy coffee and plants trick you into thinking you'll suddenly love checking emails. Ended up saving that money for actual coffee shop trips whenever I needed a change of scene.

Nailed it with that "treat yourself" trap man. I did the exact same thing with a WeWork membership back in 2019. Thought I'd turn into some productivity monster surrounded by exposed brick and free kombucha. Ended up going maybe 5 times total and just worked from my couch like a loser. Now I just grab a cheap coffee at a local place when I need to escape the house and call it good. Less guilt, same amount of emails ignored.
