Question about that AI pitch deck tool that blew up at SXSW last month
I saw a demo at a coffee shop off South Congress last month where some startup was using that new AI pitch deck generator to crank out 50 investor decks in like 20 minutes. Their sales guy was bragging how they got a $2 million seed round off a deck that tool wrote in 5 minutes flat. But I heard through the grapevine that 3 investors actually called them out for having zero customization and the numbers looked fake. Has anyone else dealt with investors getting suspicious about AI-generated materials?

Hang on, did you actually see the decks that tool put out, or are you just going off what the grapevine said? In my experience, investors don't just call out "AI-generated materials" - they call out poorly made decks that clearly haven't been tailored to their fund. I've seen founders use AI templates to rough out the boring parts, but then spend real time customizing the numbers and market fit. Take that sales guy's story with a grain of salt, because no serious investor is dropping $2 million off a 5-minute spitball. The real problem is when people copy-paste without fixing the obvious red flags, not the tool itself.

Is it just me or is this the same pattern as everyone using those AI recipe blogs that all taste weird? You see people bragging about how fast something was made but nobody wants to admit the final product is kinda off and missing that human touch.
