That $200 'AI marketing tool' I bought last month was just a GPT wrapper

Tbh I fell for the hype and dropped $200 on some software that promised to automate my outreach for my Austin consulting biz, but it literally just rephrased ChatGPT responses with my name in them. Has anyone actually found a local AI tool here that's worth the money for small business stuff?

Well, sounds like you paid $200 for a fancy copy-paste job.

800 people on the waitlist for that demo and they only let us use it for 10 minutes on a preloaded dataset. The real test is when you throw your own messy customer data at it and watch it choke on anything that isn't perfectly formatted.

Did they actually let you test it before you paid? Most of these "AI tools" popping up on Instagram ads are just people wrapping ChatGPT in a nicer looking button. In Austin alone I've seen at least 3 different "local AI" companies selling the same thing for different prices. The ones that are actually useful for small biz are usually just plain old CRM software with some basic automation built in, not these flashy new tools.
