TIL over 60% of Austin startups burn through their seed funding in under 9 months

Stumbled on a stat from a Pitchbook report last week. Shocked me. Over 60% of seed-funded startups here burn through that cash in 9 months or less. I always thought 12-18 months was the norm. Guess not. Our team is at month 8 with maybe 3 months of runway left. Makes me think we are all just running on hope and coffee. Has anyone else seen their actual burn rate match these numbers?

Read a similar stat in Forbes. Seems about right for the current market.

Yeah, "seems about right" is probably the best way to put it. Forbes usually gets those market stats from solid sources, so it's hard to argue with the numbers. But what gets me is how fast things actually shift once you zoom in. Like, one sector can be hot for a few months, then everyone jumps to the next thing. Makes you wonder who's really keeping track of the day-to-day swings.
