Vent: stop hiring 10x devs in Austin and calling it a team
Every seed stage startup on Congress Ave I talked to last quarter bragged about snagging ex-FAANG engineers at $220k a pop, then watched their product ship slip 3 months because nobody would touch the legacy code. I ran a 6 person team at a logistics startup off 360 and we beat two of those "all star" shops to launch by picking solid mid level people who actually stayed past 18 months. Why does this town still treat a fancy resume as worth more than a person who shows up on Monday?
