The old way took me close to 2 hours on a similar car last month with broken tabs and customer anger. My coworker says it's a lazy shortcut, but my repaint had zero filler work because the clip channels stayed intact. Stopped by Pick-N-Pull just outside Memphis last Tuesday looking for a door panel for a 2010 Civic. Walked past this old Accord that was stripped down to the shell and noticed the guy before me had left a whole bucket of OEM trim clips sitting on the passenger seat. No joke, there were like 200 of them, all different sizes, still in their little bags. Grabbed the whole bucket for $12 at the register. I've been paying $4 a pop at the dealer for these things. Has anyone else found random stashes like that in junkyards, or do people usually grab them all?

Last month I had this F-150 come in with intermittent rear light failure. I swapped the bulbs, checked grounds, even replaced the connector pins. Turned out the harness had a chafed wire hiding inside the frame rail near the spare tire mount, took me 3 weeks and 14 shop hours to find it. Customer paid the diagnostic fee but I lost my ass on labor. Has anyone else dealt with Ford's harness routing on these trucks or am I the only one who keeps chasing ghosts?

Tbh I always used Sata guns on everything, but last month I borrowed an Iwata from a buddy for a full Silverado repaint. Ngl the fan pattern was way more even right out of the box, no tweaking. Cut my orange peel by a solid 60% on the clear coat. Has anyone else switched and noticed a big difference?

I was at a buddy's shop last Tuesday watching him fix a quarter panel ding on a Civic. He globbed on a huge amount of filler, sanded for 20 minutes, and still had to redo it twice. I told him to try a thin layer instead, just enough to cover the low spot. He looked at me like I had three heads, but I showed him a spot repair I did on a 2018 Ford F-150 bumper last month. That job took me half the time and barely any sanding, and the customer couldn't tell it was ever hit. Filler is for leveling, not building. If you need more than 1/8 inch, you either missed some metal work or you're creating more work for yourself. Has anyone else found that going light on filler actually saves time in the long run?

Saw a guy on a forum say he uses a specific two part plastic filler for bumper repairs instead of regular body filler, and after trying it on a cracked bumper last week I can see why. The stuff didn't shrink or crack when I flexed the bumper like the regular filler always does. Has anyone else switched to a plastic specific filler for their bumper jobs?
