Appreciation post: finally got my frame machine calibration right after 4 tries
Last week I spent three hours on a 2018 F-150 and finally got the measurements dead on after messing up the first three attempts. Anybody else have that one machine that just fights you every time?

Wait, isn't that more about the operator learning the tool's language than the tool having a personality though @kim.jake? I mean, the machine's just following inputs and if you're off on your process it'll spit out bad numbers every time. Once you figure out the right way to talk to it, it's really the same each time.

... that's the thing with these machines, they're like people in a way. You gotta learn their little quirks before they'll cooperate. First time I set up a new aligner I just followed the manual step by step and it was way off. Second time I tried being smarter about it and that was worse. Sometimes you just have to accept that fighting it is part of the process. I notice this with a lot of stuff actually, like cooking a new recipe or even learning a new video game. It's never just plug and play, there's always that period where everything goes wrong before it clicks.
