Finally got that 2005 Silverado bedside to line up after three days of pulling and measuring.
The owner came back today just to shake my hand and say it looked factory, which made the whole brutal week worth it, lmao.

Honestly, it's just a handshake. We did the work and got paid. The real win is the check clearing. That customer will forget about it by next week, and so will I. Getting hung up on praise seems like a quick way to set yourself up for disappointment when most jobs just end with a signed invoice.

Yeah, the check clearing is the main thing for sure. But man, when a guy comes back just to say you nailed it, you gotta take that win. I mean, it costs them nothing and it means they really saw the work you put in. That kind of customer is the one who tells their friends where to go. You can't buy that. It's what makes a brutal week feel less brutal.

Ever think that kind of customer appreciation was overrated? I used to just want the job done and paid for... but a genuine thank you like that really does change the whole day. Makes you remember why you put up with the hard stuff.
