Notice this trend in lots of hobbies and trades. My friend who fixes old radios says new test tools cut his work time down a lot. We gain speed but maybe lose some of the deep know-how that comes from struggle. Still, that moment of perfection, like your pearl match, probably feels just as sweet now as it ever did.
