PSA: My paint booth airflow dropped by 40% in just 6 months
I walked into the booth last Tuesday and noticed my clear coat was taking forever to flash. Checked the filters and they were choked with overspray dust from the last 200 jobs. I swapped them out for a set of Gerson 6140s and now my exhaust is pulling better than when I first got the booth installed back in February. Anyone else let their filters go too long before noticing the difference?

I changed my filters last month after my buddy kept asking if I was painting through a fog machine. Turns out my blower motor was working twice as hard to move half the air. I felt pretty dumb when I saw the cost difference on my electric bill. Lesson learned the hard way I guess.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I swapped out my furnace filter with some random cheap brand from the dollar store. My cat started wheezing like a tiny lawnmower, and I just thought she was getting old. Turns out the filter was basically a cardboard skeleton with some lint glued on. The HVAC guy called it a "dust screen" and laughed when he pulled it out. I felt like such a doofus when the replacement filter cost like eight bucks and suddenly my air wasn't a swamp.
