PSA: Stop using bondo on plastic bumpers it just cracks again in 3 months
I used to fix plastic bumpers the old way with filler for like 5 years. Then last month a customer brought back a bumper I did in June and the crack was back worse. Switched to using the plastic welder kit from Harbor Freight with the staples and some epoxy. That one repair has held up through like 2 snowstorms already. Anyone else ditch filler for plastics yet?

I switched to plastic welding a couple years back and never looked back. The key is roughing up the back side and using the staples on both sides of the crack before you epoxy, not just one.

Roughing up the back side is a must, I learned that the hard way on a bumper repair. I use a coarse 80 grit flap disc on a grinder to get a good texture, then wipe it down with acetone before anything else. The staples on both sides makes a huge difference too, I go about an inch apart to keep the crack from spidering out while the epoxy sets.
