Remember when Bondo came in a can you had to stir for 20 minutes?
I was cleaning out the shop last week and found an old 1970s quart can of body filler, the kind with the hardener tube tucked in the lid. It got me thinking about how we used to mix that stuff by hand with a spreader, eyeballing the ratio and hoping it didn't kick off mid-stroke. Now it's all these cartridge guns and measured tips. Nothing wrong with progress, but I swear there was a skill to feeling the filler go from tacky to sandable that the kids today just don't get. Am I the only one who misses the old smell and the mess? Or am I just turning into the old guy at the counter complaining about the price of primer?
