Switched from cheap bondo to premium filler after a nasty sink hole
I used to use whatever bondo was on sale at AutoZone, but last month I filled a dent on a 2017 Civic and ended up with a sinkhole after curing. Switched to Rage Gold and the stuff sands smooth without pinholing every time. Anyone else have a brand that saved their paint jobs?

Maybe you just got a bad batch of the cheap stuff. I've used plenty of store brand filler and never had a sinkhole issue.

@bennett.evan you might have just gotten lucky with your batches, but I've patched enough holes to know the cheap filler can be a gamble. Had one job where the store brand stuff sagged so bad I had to dig it all out and start over with the good stuff. Stick with what you know works, it saves the headache later.

Man, Vera, I hear you loud and clear. That digging out part is a nightmare I've been through too. @bennett.evan I get that you've had good luck, but once you have to scrape out a whole wall of cheap filler that turned to crumbles, you don't forget it. It's not just about the money, it's the wasted time and the mess. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks for the name brand and sleep easy knowing it's not gonna sag overnight. Better to just do it once and do it right.
