Those cheap plastic clip retainers snapped again on a 2023 Civic

Had a 2023 Civic come in Thursday for a door panel rattle. Customer said it sounded like loose change in the door. Pulled the panel and three of the white nylon clip retainers just crumbled when I touched them. This is the third new Honda I've seen this month with the same problem. Anyone else seeing these brittle factory clips failing way too early?

@kimr74 three already crumbled? That's insane for a 2023. My 2016 Accord clips are still fine and I've had that panel off a few times. Honda definitely cheaped out on the plastic formula somewhere.

Three of them? On a 2023? I've got a 2019 Accord in my driveway with 80k miles and the original clips are still holding strong. Those new ones must be made out of something different, like dried out plastic from a kids toy. Honda's been solid for years but this is just cheap.

Has anyone checked if the clips for the 2023 model are actually a different part number than the ones from 2019? I work on cars as a hobby and I've noticed Honda switched suppliers for a lot of their plastic trim parts around 2021 to cut costs. My neighbor bought a 2022 Civic and the clips under the dash started cracking just from the heat last summer. It's not just a bad batch, it's a whole different formula that's way more brittle. The old clips had a bit of flex to them, these new ones snap like dry twigs if you look at them wrong.
