Visited a body shop in Memphis that still uses lead filler on older cars
I was down in Memphis last Friday checking out a buddy's shop near the airport. He was doing a 1965 Mustang quarter panel and pulled out the lead torch instead of filler. It blew my mind because I haven't seen anyone do that since I was an apprentice back in the early 2000s. Has anyone else run into shops still using lead for classic metal work?

That's respect for the old school right there.

@michaeld48 nailed it. Had a buddy restore a '72 Challenger and swore by lead since it keeps the body lines razorsharp without shrinking like filler does.

@michaeld48 how long does it take him to do a quarter panel compared to just using filler? I keep hearing it's faster in the long run but that torch work looks slow.
