I finally added a simple gravel path through my backyard last weekend
Three years after moving into this house in Phoenix, I dug out a 50-foot trench and laid down landscape fabric and pea gravel in one afternoon why did I wait so long to do this instead of stomping mud through the grass every time it rained, anyone else put off small yard projects for no good reason?

Yeah the pea gravel path was a game changer for me too. I did the same thing with a little stone border on the sides to keep it from scattering everywhere and it's held up way better than I expected. Little projects like that just make the yard feel more finished without costing a fortune.

Oh my god same lol. I put off putting a simple paver path down my side yard for TWO years because I kept thinking it would take all weekend. Finally did it in like 3 hours and it changed my whole relationship with that stupid muddy strip of grass. Now I actually use the side door in the rain without cringing every time. It's wild how much a little thing like that can make you feel like you actually have your life together. Rock on with that gravel path, seriously haha.

Wait is this really that big of a deal? I mean you dug a trench and threw down some rocks, not like you remodeled the whole yard. Seems like a lot of effort for something that probably looks fine either way. But hey if it makes you happy then cool I guess, just seems a little dramatic to call it a "day of redemption" or whatever.
