My brother-in-law said a simple gravel path changed his whole yard vibe

We were at his place in Springfield last weekend, and he pointed out this winding path he put in himself. He said he spent maybe $150 on gravel and edging, and it took a Saturday. It wasn't about the path itself, but how it made him actually walk around and use different parts of the yard he used to ignore. I always thought you needed a big deck or patio to make a difference. Has anyone else done something small like this that had a bigger effect than expected?

My gravel path just leads to my compost pile.

Honestly @patricia_gonzalez, my fancy stone walkway just goes to the trash cans.

Gravel is actually a GREAT path for compost, @patricia_gonzalez.

@patricia_gonzalez Honestly a path to the compost pile sounds like a VIP experience for your kitchen scraps. "Welcome to the Rotten Zone, please enjoy your stay." But hey, at least your yard has direction, mine just has a dead patch where I threw out old mulch bags.
