A regular told me my neck shaves were too rough and it hit home
He said, 'Stella, you're scraping me raw back there,' after his cut last Tuesday. I watched my hand and saw I was using too much pressure with the straight razor, trying for speed over care. Now I slow way down, keep the skin tight but the touch light, and check in halfway through. Anyone else get a wake-up call about their technique from a client?

Ever think some clients are too polite to say anything? Tbh, a lot of people will just not come back instead of giving feedback. That quiet complaint is the one that should really scare you.

Piper779, that quiet exit is just free market research.

Quiet exits are a thing, but I don't buy that a client just ghosting is free market research worth much. If someone leaves without saying anything, you got zero info to work with. Old Stella got a real wake up call because her client actually spoke up and told her what was wrong. That's way more valuable than some silent assumption based on a client not coming back. Piper, I get why you think that way, but a polite regular who tells you to your face what's off is a gift. The quiet exit just leaves you guessing forever.
