Appreciation post: A client told me my fades looked like 'stairs' and it made me switch up my blending.
He said the lines were too harsh and I needed to spend more time with my clipper over comb. I started using a 1.5 guard for an extra step between the 1 and 2, and the difference is night and day. Anyone else have a specific guard or technique that saved their blend?

Totally get that. I had the same problem with my 0.5 to 1 transition looking like a shelf. My mentor made me put down the guards for a week and just use the lever. It forced me to really learn the head shape and how much pressure to use. Now I barely use a 0.5 guard at all, I just open the lever on the one. The blend is so much softer.
