Appreciation post: I finally switched from a 00000 blade to a 000 for my bald fades
For years at my shop in Tampa, I was taught that the 00000 was the only way to get that super clean, skin-tight finish. I used it on every single fade for almost a decade. About six months ago, I tried a 000 on a client who had sensitive skin, and it was a total game changer. It still gets you right down to the skin, but it doesn't pull or irritate nearly as much, and the blend from the 0 guard is way smoother. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed their clients are more comfortable?

Ever notice old habits are the hardest to break?

Took me years to stop biting my nails, @wilson.joseph. Had to replace it with something else. Started keeping a stress ball in my pocket. Every time I caught myself doing it, I'd just squeeze that thing instead. Felt silly but it actually worked.

Yeah, old habits really do stick around. I was the same way with my old clippers. Used the same pair for like eight years because they felt right, even though they were getting dull. Finally tried a new model and it was like night and day. Felt weird for the first week, but now I can't imagine going back.
