Clipper fade vs. shear over comb at the Arizona Barber Expo last spring

I went to the Arizona Barber Expo last April and watched two big names go head to head on stage. One guy did a flawless clipper fade in 12 minutes flat, the other spent 25 minutes with shear over comb for a more textured look. The crowd was split right down the middle on which technique actually lasts longer for the client. Ever since then I've been debating with myself if I should lean harder into one method (you know, to get faster) or keep switching based on hair type. Which side do you fall on and why?

Shear over comb hides regrowth better, saving clients money between cuts.

Gotta push back on the clipper fade crowd here. I get that speed matters in a busy shop, but shear over comb just ages better for the client's wallet and day to day look. When that fade grows out you can see the hard line a mile away after a week and a half, but shear over comb blends so gradual folks don't even notice it's growing. The texture difference is legit too, especially on thicker or wavy hair where clippers leave it too uniform. I'd say keep using both, but don't sacrifice a good shear over comb cut just to shave a few minutes off your time.
