Clipper gap settings finally clicked for me after 5 years

I was messing with my fade today and realized the 0.5 gap on my Wahl is basically the same as a 1 guard with zero pressure, my buddy had to point that out after watching me struggle since 2019. Anyone else ever have a basic thing like that just suddenly make sense way later than it should?

Man, that hit home for me too! I spent forever fighting with my clippers until I realized I was overthinking the lever position and just needed to match the guard size to the blade gap, not the other way around.
